Stain-resistant treatment

STAIN-RESISTANT TREATMENT ON FABRICS

The first experiments to produce stain-resistant fabrics have been able to achieve after the discovery of fluorocarbon resins, developed in the United States laboratories from Du Pont de Nemours, in 1938 Nowadays, as the original patent licenses have expired, stain-resistant fabrics have had the greatest spread worldwide whit the result of a significant improvement in quality product, safety and the great expansion of application fields.

It should be clear that a product wiht anti-stain treatment is not a waxed, rubberized or plastic cloth, and it is used in very different ways from this type of products: stain-resistant fabric retains its natural hand and its natural permeability to the air: it follows that comfort and breathability remain unchanged, and no particular external
appearance shows any difference from an untreated product.

The surface of stain-resistant fabric is protected by an invisible barrier, effective against dirt: the drops of water, oil, wine, organic liquids and so on, cannot penetrate the fibers and tend to slip away, forming a series of droplets that roll on the treated surfaces where they can be easily removed.

For the fabrics with stain resistant treatment the following features will be credited:

  • resistance to water drops and oil.
  • resistance to dirt of fat type in general.
  • antipilling (it does not form textile material small balls and dust).
  • the fabric maintains its fresh new tissue for a long time.
  • dirt in all cases remains superficial, with the ease of low temperature washing and energy saving.
